Michael holds a Master’s degree in Near Eastern Studies from New York University and a Bachelor’s specialized in Africa and the Middle East from the University of California, Berkeley.
He has studied Arabic, and has worked, studied and traveled in the Middle East and North Africa. He has a long-term business partner based in Cairo, Egypt and has taught modern Middle Eastern and North African politics and history at elite universities. Moreover, Michael has an extensive publications list under the nom de plume, “O’Brien Browne”, dealing with Middle Eastern politics, culture and history.
